hi all... ok, just getting into the W&W game right now, and am already stuck... i'm in the toad village, in a tunnel (right past the knee-deep water area) and cant proceed! there are two toads blocking the corridor, and two broken barrels between them. i am now somehow in the middle of all of it, i can head back down the corridor the way i came, but i think the shaman is down this way, and i haven't reached him yet. i've done a search here in the forum already, but everything mentioned doesn't seem to help, and i cant kill them w/out the alarm going out, since theres' two! any suggestions? i was really getting drawn into this game, coolest rpg i've seen in a good while, but after two hours of "Ukabu good.." dialogue, i am ready to get along... any suggestions or tips? i am frustrated as a super-goober in the varn dungeon!~

Have you tried saying "goodbye" to them? Even if you weren't talking to them in the first place, sometimes it gets them to move on their way. My only other suggestion would be to take some time out, do another quest if possible, and come back, and they might have moved on by that point.
This has frustrated most of us. Oh, perhaps use the "carry" function and move the broken barrels somewhere else just to remove one obstruction. I am relatively sure you can't use the "carry" function on the toads, however (more's the pity). |

Two toads are indeed much worse than one. Here are a couple of suggestions: 1) Reset the game or the adventure, and hope there will be no toads down there next time (or, at most, just one). 2) Use the character editor to pump up a character to a spell level high enough to take out both toads with one cast. Then edit that character back to previous levels. Anyone else? Xignal |

thanks for the speedy replys guys... i got past it by reverting already, no seriously big loss... i am now trying to figure out how to kill these swamp monsters w/out any fatalities... any tips or strategy for taking them out? thx again all, very cool game.

I don't know what level you're at when taking them on. Generally, it's best to complete the Crypt first before attempting this one, as it's a pretty tough battle this early on. Even if you told the Shaman you'd do the quest, it will wait for a bit...none of the quests in this game are time-sensitive. For a real treat, wait until you get Merlin's Shield (5th level Stone), put it on everyone, then rush the swamp monsters and kill them at close range. The MS spell will ward off most of the effects of the swamp gas, and you can kill them off one by one. Good luck! -Sazerac |

thx Sazerac... i turned back a little while ago, only level 2 right now and not many spells... the sad/funny thing is that everyone in my party was ending up dead, except for my one pixie! they just couldn't hit her... heading to the crypt now, thx all..
