Well Ziroc, I have been in 3 times today so just wanted to let you know of a few things I noticed and perhaps give some suggestions on how to workaround these probs for a better gaming experience to players.

I have been in your server a few times now and I think it's great. The lag issues I must say are terrible though...and other players I partied with had the same problems each time. Even on connection it takes a LONG time for me to actually log into the game...almost like a time-out but not, as eventually I do get in there. Today I have been in 3 times, as I said and each time saw some stuff happening such as:

1) Overall lag making movement sluggish, juttery and 'dial-up' feeling, you know, walking to a point and then suddenly being 'reset' (porting) back to that point..it's terrible trying to follow your team with this.

2) Major video lag at the starting point due to too many NPC's in the one area.

3) Creatures acting really dumb and not reacting to players at all due to severe lagging. I know you have been told about this but when I was in today it seemed to be even worse.

4) Almost every time I have been in I hear players complaning about a bug on level 9 (I think) where they get stuck in a tree trunk (??). I have never actually played that far as of yet so don't know exactly what it is but just to let you know if you don't already.

One thing is for sure, you do *NEED* an automated script that reloads the server about every 2 hours in order to reduce lag and also deter this new bug with monster inventory items eating up massive CPU resources when dropped (perhaps this is one place to look). I can give you one such script if you need it. Also I would really look into how many OnHeartbeat scripts you got running (or anything similiar in nature that fires consistently). Triggers are also an issue, alot of triggers will lag up a server something evil. I notice the player max is on 24, IMHO this is too high for a server that runs for more than 10 hours without resetting AND falls into 'peak time' in the MPer world - maybe reduce that a little?

Well, I hope this helps somewhat and does not discourage your good work. It's just these issues that cause me to log off in frustration of late. The map itself is great, the work you put in is very fine and the people I adventure with are the nicest you could ever meet.

Let me add to this that in the animal prison...when I first entered the area, the large creature came right through the door and scared the crap outta me, but when I tried to attack it, it didn't even get hit. It also just stood there. I had not yet opened the doors to the cages, so I think that the monster was still scripted inside the cage, but the visual told me that it was outside. Wierd. I was sure that you had created monsters that could walk through walls!

I have no problem logging into the server...but no matter what time of day or night I am in there...nothing really attacks me, because they are hung up. I slaughter those guys! They never even turn around and see me!

Hm.. there are scripts that destroy all the dropped items in a certain area every few minutes. I could check it out, if you'd think that it would be of use

Well, as I've said before, this 'lag' issue is only present after the game is up for more that 5 hours or so.. And it locked up today, but people were getting on still. lol! WEIRD!

Anyway, the NPC's in the tavern are staying. It's part of the story, and are needed.

The bug you speak of is on level 9, and it's not really a bug, it's just not finished . The teleported is off. (I'm about done with this level though, and will upload it tomorrow)

You also gotta understand that we are using the same bandwidth as this forum does, so if there are a bunch of people at IW, it will eat bandwidth up more.

I hope the lag issue is fixed in the next patch, because it's not my mod's fault. I've had this issue since level 1 was the only level completed. argh!

I'll try to reset it more often though. Right now, people are on, and having a blast!! BTW, once I finish this Mod, I'll release it as a Multiplayer and Single player game, and you won't have that lag issue then--for SURE!

I may remove a few NPC's from the tavern (ones that have no dialogue) to make is less jerky. Maybe lower the total amount of players from 24 to 18 or something..

FYI>>>I have been in and out almost all night from 6pm to 1:30am...and the lag issue is less of a problem than before. Also, there were alot of people on tonight..so obviously...something has improved!

Haven't done a thing , I've just been rebooting it every 5 hours now. I bet (hope!!) that this will correct itself in v1.30. Which will soon be out.. I won't touch that beta though.

Did you not remove some monsters on certain levels and replace them with smaller ones that does not have as much of a problem with lagging? I was sure last night that some things were different!

I agree with you about the v1.30 patch. No use testing your luck...as "beta" is basically game language for..."we wish you luck!"...
