i have been playing on here a while now and have several characters 40th lvl...i have seen alot of overpowering monsters throughout the game...i like a challenge but come on...the hellball and harm items at least gave some hope of beating those monsters...a 40th lvl guy should not have that much problem with certain monsters...granted there should be some out there but not every one you meet...i enjoy playing on this server alot and will continue doing so..is there a way to even out the monsters a bit? not much...or add better weapons...i mean when it takes me 30 min or better to kill one monster at lvl 40 thats unreal....some of these mosters were on lvl 8 and the ability for the monsters to use complete heal unlimited is a bit much...this is the my veiw as well as 3 others that i run with...but other than the items mentioned above the server is a blast...thanks for your time.

Hey Rattler,
Can you let me know which monsters they are. I've only just got back online myself so let me know and I will check them out. Cheers!

The green dragon in the tree stump on 8 maybe one.
We have tried to off him with 2 25th lvl and never where able to do it. But since that lvl has changed and I ahve not been able to play there may be something different down there. Hopefully we will be able to play in the next couple weeks.

He's the toughest dragon in Undermountain and something of a local legend. Even with a party I've never managed...

I wonder if rattler has just visited the new underground forest on level 8.
Reaching the green dragon can be a problem now. Malarites with heal and harm spells and Zhents with IGMS do make things difficult. A lvl 20 - 25 character coming out of EfU level 7 is liable to die quickly and often. A lvl 40 character shouldn't have too much of a problem there (I did take one in and cleared it solo) but I do think level 8 is probably now at least as difficult as lvl 12 or trollbark. For those going through level by level and building a character it may be too difficult and best avoided or run through. |

With all the new passageways to everywhere and back upening up, I think it's become a lot easier to reach and fight in an area where you can win, and to avoid the deathzones.
There will always be monsters you have trouble beating in EfU, some of the worst are impossible to hit, immune to nearly all the damage, possessed of a great many hitpoints and able to regenerate as well as heal themselves. And I think that's just fine; if every level 40 character could clear out all of the Undermountain, then with the number of level 40's there wouldn't be much left to kill before long |

well when it takes me 10 of that 30 min to hit the monster and he hits me on the first swing thats just a bit hard...i like a good challenge to but come on...most of the guys on lvl 8 heal and harm you quite often....they are just like the proving grounds monsters at times.

To whomever was helping me out the last time:
Thanks for all your patience and diligence. With my original character here (whom I will need to get renamed), I made it with your help to the Drow Proving Grounds. And then... then we got slaughtered. Sure, I am playing a Level 38 character (Rogue 18, Wizard 20) and still trying to cast whatever spells I have in my armory at the time, but when someone manages to take TWO high level characters out by just spinkicking us to death, there is a problem. Like, I think we hit him... eight times in twenty minutes for next to no damage? A dragon I can expect and accept this from , but a singular pantywaist dark elf who we ALL know couldn't spell his own name? What gives? *will be working on specialist characters of all sorts now JUST to whup that fool's @$$ up and down the dark elven landscape (or cavern-scape as it may well be).*

I am changing the Malarites a bit--power wise. They ARE a bit too hard for the 8th level. I'll tweak them out tonight.
And BTW, that green IS tough, and is meant for a large party to kill. He has 6000 HP's! |

Yep, and even though that's less than the dracolich on level 12, Ol' Green is much tougher since she has a much higher AC and can cast heal.
