Just wanted to say I finally managed to get on EfU this morning and check it out a bit before work. From what I've seen so far it looks fantastic! Great job to Ziroc and everyone else who was involved! I can't wait to download the full version when it's complete! I do have a couple of questions for anyone who's had more experience with the mod:

1. What kind of penalty is there for dieing?
2. Where can I find a cool cloak or cape like I see some of the NPCs wearing?
3. Should I just drop the gear that the NPCs in the Yawning Portal don't want to buy?
4. What's the deal with Paladins and this mod? I created one, but after reading through the forum I'm thinking maybe I shouldn't have.
5. When you get to the lower levels is there some sort of portal system to return to the Inn or do you need to just walk it?

That's all I have for now. Great work and I look forward to seeing you all in the underground!

Let me say first, welcome to Ironworks. Currently there is no death penalty in effect, which is a good thing, believe me. The capes you see are crafted to the armor, in the toolset currently, unless Z has gotten the crafting fixed?? When you talk to Durnan, tell him you want to sell some treasure you found, and He'll buy most of the stuff from you.
There is plenty of evil to smite, both down the well, and outside. I see nothing wrong with a Paladin running around smiting it.
Currently you have to walk back, but there are a few shortcuts, from some of the mid levels, if you can find them.
There is a tips and tricks thread on this forum that is suggested reading. Have fun.

Welcome to Ironworks Glycerine!

In answer to your questions

1. There is no death penalty yet. We had one for a bit but it mucked up some of the XP scripts so it was taken out.

2. The capes are actually crafted to the armour. there are many armours that have capes on them.

3. Durnan should buy almost everything off you. Just make sure that your telling Durnan that you want to sell items because he has two stores. one for selling one for buying.

4. Paladins with high Cha will make good use of the smite evil feat.

5. There are many portals down (most guarded) but only one that goes up. I will leave it to you to find it but Halaster has this portal heavily guarded.

Glad to see you aboard and have fun!

Cheers!
