I've read these series before, but in Dutch. Started to read them again, and am pleasantly surprised (although I know I liked them before) by what's in the books.
Anyone of you guys who has read the books (the first one is titled Pawn of Prophecy)?

AWESOME series. Absolutely loved the Belgariad. Eddings is one of my favorite authors, along with Raymond Feist and George Martin.

A great read, Eddings has excellent characterization, even if subtlety isn't exactly his strong suit.

I read the Belgariad and the Malorean and his stand alones Polgara and Belgarath.....I could not generate any interest in his other series though....
Since I loved the both the Belgariad and the Malorean I suppose someone will come along to explain how they were not artistic and low brow...but I enjoyed the hell out of them |
