I have just started making some custom art and want to upload it so perhaps others who are artistically challenged can use it, but I don't know how to upload them. Also, Does anyone have any advice for how to do good dialogue? I am a decent artist, but my dialogue sucks... Any ideas?

hi big drip, and welcome back.
do you mean how to upload, or where to upload? (i can probably help on both if you need it.) as to dialog, i have two suggestions that a former writing instructor gave me. first, write down dialogs from your daily life- you know take like 15 or 20 minutes in the evening to write out as close to verbatim as possible a dialog that you were part of or overheard during the day. it doesn't have to be interesting or exciting, it is just so you get used to writing in the dialog flow. second, think of movie or television dialog that you really like and look for the script online and read how the author wrote it. (you can also use the first suggestion in combination with this and write out how you think the dialog should be written to achieve the effect you like.) we certainly welcome any art that you have to upload, and if you have/start your own site, i'm the owner of the dungeon craft webring, and i'd love to have you be a part of it. -manikus |

I need help as to where and how to upload the artwork. Also download file size limitations, and general info like that. Right now what I've done is a Set of pics consisting of the Main Viewport Border, and The Horizontal and Vertical Borders in order to get a feel for the overall look of the game. Also finished the first version of my intro movie which I would love to upload unfortunately its 85 megabytes!!Grrr... I'll have to figure something out about that... Anywho, thanx for the dialogue tips... I'll try that, also my mom is a writer so I might just try to get her to write my dialogue for me... That way I can concentrate on the artistic aspect of it which is really my forte...

uploads-
there is one site, the magic mirror, that is a depository for a game called forgotten realms unlimited adventures, and dungeon craft. it used to be well maintained, but the guy spends a lot of time with nwn so it's not as active as it used to be. he still does accept new work though. there is also ironworks here. ziroc has said in the dungeon craft section that people can send him work and he'll put it up. i don't think anyone has taken him up on this offer, though. he's a very busy guy, and there tends to be quite a delay between his updates. if you haven't already, you can join the yahoo group and upload your art to it's file section. also, for a very temporary solution, you can email it to me, and i will put up a simple page of your work until you can get your own site. and lastly, i recommend setting up your own webpage for all of your art. now as to the mechanics of uploading: the first option i list above, the magic mirror, has a very simple interface on the webpage with step-by-step instructions. to ziroc and me, you would just attach your art, or zip files with your art in them, to an email. to the yahoo site, you click on the files heading and follow the instructions, which work an awful lot like sending an email attachment. the last option, creating your own page, really depends on who you use to set up your page. i have a page through geocities, which is free, and it is a very easy web based procedure very similar to adding an email attachment. i have another page through topcities, which is also free, that requires the use of an ftp client. a lot more difficult until you have done it a few times. all of the sites mentioned above are easy to find- just go to the dungeon craft art page link below, and go to the links section. there are also some links to some other dungeon craft art sites. -manikus |

Greetings Big Drip!
You say you have made a movie. What software are you using? I presume it's 3d as it's the easiest way to make avi's. I am doing some modelling at the moment, maybe we could exchange some models. M. |
