I am doing something wrong I think. Why can't my mage use the sling that I gave her. I made sure she has ammo in her inventory and have boosted her thrown weapons, ranged combat, and Dex and Senses as well as Speed. Put the sling in the alternate weapon slot yet it always shows as red? The only person I have who can use a ranged weapon is my Ranger...the reason I think I may be doing something wrong is that my Bard was able to at one point, until she ran out of ammo...now she can't anymore, even though I give her ammo.

Thanks for any help!

Hmm, you might be placing the sling in the wrong slot. When you go to the Inventory screen there are four "boxes" (two to each side of the character's body). The boxes closer to the body are used for the primary weapon and the secondary weapon or a shield. The sling is a ranged weapon (not secondary) so it should go on the box farthest to the left and then the ammunition can be put on the one farthest to the right (the stones have to be equipped as well). Hope that helps.

i have never had a sling show up red in anyone's inventory slot!

you are putting it on the far left side, right? for alternate primary weapon. and then the stones go in the far right inventory spot.

if it's red in the main game window, it might be because she's not in the proper range for it.

you can check if any weapon is good for any teammate before buying it or later on, whenever, by right clicking on it. it will show classes under the "profession icon" and race under the "race icon" .... that way you can avoid other weapons, armor etc that are not good for your particular fighter.

sometimes you gotta swap stuff around, but it shouldn't be doing that.
