Sometimes I think I get too involved in role playing.
Sometimes I know I get too involved in role playing.

When I'm in a battle and am getting help - from Lay Brothers, Trinnies, and the like - and my helpers are getting hit ... after the battle is over I cast Heal Wound spells on them.

Does anybody else do anything this silly?

Silly?! Hah! All of my "good" CRPG experience will be rewarded someday, I just know it! Don't ask me how... I just do it.

I heal my Summoned Elementals during a battle (of course now that I have the Bard's Heal All instrument, that's kind of a moot point). All that healing experience is good for your characters anyway.

Yes, I will gladly heal anyone who has helped me, although Antone still scares me and I will heal him twice as much if he helps.

Well, sure, aren't you supposed to do that? I mean, after all, they did help you, right?

As for becoming involved with your characters, how about dreaming of them?

Lately I've been dreaming non-game stuff, but about my characters. Like I see them in a RL situation.

The opposite, also. I dream about real life friends, but we are in a kind of game environment, wizardry stuff. Gotta decide how to get to a certain area, what weapons/magic to choose, etc. But with people I know in daily life.

I got it baaaaad!

Aye! See, that's why I wish we could make our own entries in the journal like in Star Trail. I used to get SOOOOOO into it. I'd write in the journal from different character perspectives about NPCs or other characters.

"Tawmis has gotten sick again. Blasted elf. Weak, like the rest of their kind."

Etc etc etc.

It's a blast! Really adds an extra element!

(Of course, the men with the funny white coats are trying to knock down my door! But they won't catch me! They won't!)

Heck, if I didn't heal all my elementals during the battle with Nessie, I wouldn'nt be typing this reply! Actually, I first found that healing was REALLY beneficial when Rex helped me out against against some Picuses up in the WC. Good dog!

As for applying Wiz8 to life, how about I am watching LOTR and in the scene where they fight the Orcs with the cave troll I couldn't help but think "...make sure you move Gandalf to the back rank!".

Yes. Although one game I played, when I healed an NPC he went hostile on me.

In BG I used to give money to all the beggers... And in Arcanum... And in every other game that's had beggers...

Oh yes, in Planescape Torment, I always end up lawful good... I just can't be evil. It doesn't make sense.

of course!! one good turn deserves another!

one of the first times i tried it, however, was horrible and i almost never tried it again. i had help from the HLL fighting off some really weak battle droids, and the one in front was down to about 15 hps or something. immediately upon casting a big heal on him, HE BLEW UP INTO A KAJILLION CHUNKS!!

ACK!! i was so upset, i was apologizing left and right and they were very sweet to the Blonde Brigade about it. however, i did notice that most of them were smiling and backing away, telling me they were fine, just fine.

I wonder if I cast Magic Screen that would protect me from that "Do Status Report" curse that my boss casts on me?

Of course I do, I gotte help out the good guys. But they could at least say "Thanks Pal", but no, they just shuffle off into the sunset.

Oh well, at least I feel like a good samaritan.
