Hi. I want to align the T'rang and Umpani by rescuing the prisoners at the Rapax camp. I also want to milk both sides for experience in their alliance quests. Can I complete all quests for both sides except destroying each other's mother ship? Thanks.

I believe so... I did all quests up to the "blow ship from sky" or "turn T'rang porter to Max power" then just two days ago I united them by taking the prisoners with me to see each leader.

Yes, that's the best way to do it. I've completed this one several times. You just have to be careful that you're not found out. Stay away from He'Li. Be careful around Sgt. Kunar. You may want to turn him in after you get the code phrase from Z'Ant. It's worth some extra experience.

Xerin - I found the easiest way to accomplish this was by doing the T'Rang quests up to finding the black box first without joining the Umpani at all (just go buy the flag) and once you've got the black box quest, then go sign up with the Umpani and do all their missions until you have to do the underwater training. At that point you can kill two birds with one stone and accomplish both the Umpani and T'rang missions at once. Make sure finish that Umpani one first and get the next one before finishing the Black box quest. Those are the next-to-last missions for each group so that sets you up perfectly for the alliance quest.

Just make sure that you save every time you are getting ready to talk to Z'ant because he can go ballistic on you even if you haven't talked to He'Li or Kunar. If he does, just reload and go into inventory mode and pick up the object you want to show him and exit back to the main screen with it attached to your cursor. Click on him with it and you will bypass the hostility mode.

Doing it this way I didn't hit his hostility mode until I arrived with Drazic at which point I had Yamir's letter to give him. When I did it the first time I joined the T'rang and got the 1st quest, joined the Umpani when I went to get the flag (T'rang first quest), did all their quests to the underwater one, went back to Z'ant and got his 2nd and 3rd quests and then hit his hostility mode when I returned from the 3rd quest (taking letter to Mook). Unfortunately, for his 4th quest you don't have an object to click on him with so I ended up having to go back to the beginning of all the quests and start over in order to be able to complete all the quests and still get the alliance.

Y'know, it's REALLY strange how some people have that happen to them. I'm wondering if patches have something to do with it. I installed only the Ascension Peak patch, and so far, neither side has ever caught on to my double-dealing.

In some games, I hadn't even turned Kunar in. The one thing I always made sure of was never to enter He'Li's place after I'd signed up with the T'rang (they're always first). And certainly not after I'd joined the Umpani.

It's been working just fine for me. Maybe something got switched on in one of the later patches that causes discovery?
