Where do you find the Muramasa, the light sword, the Estoc etc? I've never seen one of them Then again I tend to restart the game at level 10-12 somewhere..
Maybe knowing the location of some phat loot will motivate me to keep going ![]() |

The light sword can be gotten from the buccaneer ghosts, or the chest in the bayjin hut. And at level 10-12 I doubt that you have been there yet.

My record for getting as far as the Light Sword in Beyjin is L13 with a solo Lord. It's in the chest that's in a hut with a Sentry. I had 4 games in a row in which it took less than 5 tries to get Light, but now i can't seem to get any more...
Muramasa and Estoc are in Rapax Castle. I usually go there around L15-16, though you can get through there younger if you run through most of the areas to avoid the residents. Estoc is in 2 places, one is a PP/drop from Al-Adryian, who gets you started on your Templar trip. He's got a pretty big drop list, even a set of Divinemail. Estoc can also appear where Muramasa can; the Queen's chest in the Upper part of the Castle. |

Keep in mind that most of those drops are random. Some players have spent an afternoon or more killing the bucc ghosts for the light sword, or re-entering Bayjin for it (or the light shield, which sometimes shows up in that chest).
Likewise, the Excalibur sword once in a rare while appears in the Davy Jones chest. These items are all very nice to have, but none are critical. If you want any of them, be prepared for a long haul. |

So you can actually run from encounters? I get that from "you can get through there younger if you run through most of the areas to avoid the residents". I'd love to be able to, you see, since I get owned at times.. like one time on AT road when 2 geomancers, 2 siges, 7 juggernauts, 9 twilight bats and 8 trynnie haunts had me trapped between them and the Trynton exit, heh.
Anyway, just a sidetrack.. I tend to do that ![]() Any other weapons aside from those that I may have missed? I heard something about a Dread Spear or something and how it's better than the stun rod I bought from the T'Rang shopkeeper in Lower Marten's bluff.. apart from that the only really "special" weapons I've found for my party is Bloodlust in Arnika and Demonbane/Demonsting in Lower Monastery. The furthest I've gotten without restarting is where I got Helm of Serenity in Trynton (I went through the mine tunnels if there are any other paths). If I'm a nag with my incessant questions, tell me and I'll turn it down a notch |

Dread Spear is in a lot of places. You can buy one from Bela, at the Mountain entrance to the Peak. Ferro, in the Castle, sells them, too. The Shaman has one, you gotta PP or kill for.
To run when not in combat, hold down your shift key. Stay as far to the edge of the scenery as you can on the roads (up the cliff). When you run in combat many mobs will disengage if you get far enough away from where you first engaged. The Mace, Diamond Eyes, is pretty good, one is another drop from the Shaman, and one's in a barrow in the Mountain Wilderness. Fang, Giant's Sword can be had from a Temple in the SE Wilds. Staff of Doom is under the waterfall in the Mountain Wilds. |

The Crypt Keeper in the Sea Caves always drops a giant sword, though only a Mook ranger can use it.
Dread spear can be bought from Bela, but I think you need to be a certain level before he shows it. Most of my groups were around 20 when we talked to him, and never saw it. Only my really high-level parties ever saw it in his "shop". The Rapax castle is probably the best place overall to get that and other things. The Blades of Aesir sometimes show up in the Queen's chest in the castle. The best axe in the game, but of course everyone who could use it is already equipped with something else, and it's a bit late in the day to start developing axe skill ![]() There's also a two-handed sword called The Avenger that showed up once in the chest behind the Crypt Keeper. Antone carries a Faust Halberd (cursed item) in his back pocket, but picking it from him is not easy. Tremaine at the HLL building has a Ravensbill (also cursed) in his pocket. Also not easy to obtain. Typically, the really good stuff is hard to come by. But I think you may have noticed that by now ![]() |

A Mook Fighter, Lord or Valk can also use the Giant Sword.
You don't have to hold down the shift key to run. You can make it your default. Then you can hold the shift key only if you need to walk. (The only time I would need to walk is in a certain section of the obstacle course, but even now I run it in small bursts). Having "always run" on really speeds up the movement around Dominus and saves the trouble of having another key pressed.

And it serves for extra excitement when you run into enemies at ridiculously low stamina and realize you don't have the Rest All spell, hehe
I know how to run, the controls are very clear to me, I meant actually running from encounters. I just have the experience that enemies will stay in close pursuit and simply knock my head off when I run out of stamina. I may have run into foes with insane amounts of stamina at those times though. |

If you run away far enough the enemies will eventually retreat. Keep running and combat will end. Just try not to run into them again though
