Well, after countless games running directly for the best equipment, i had a little thought; "i wonder if you could..."
So i ran a Duo who wore no Armor and wielded no Weapons:
-Hobbit Ninja, started as Alchemist for Heal and Stamina (and extra Dex)
-and Elf Monk, all the way through.
Both fought only Martial Arts and stayed naked except for Al-S (...?...) and the bit with the Plank (and the underwater on the way there). It went well in Normal, and i think it'd have made it in Expert, but i'm not gonna prove it.
The worst part was the frustration of chasing stuff that retreats all the time.
Ninja's Crit bonus was much less noticable than the Monk's MA bonus. And Monk KO is really something once you get your level into the 20's. Biggest advantage the Ninja had was starting Strength, and the Monk was extremely behind in damage until i got his Str up in the 50's

Scatter, you've got too much time on your hands! Congrats though. I was meaning to ask a similar question lately on how many people have played w/o changing their starting equipment.
Did you allow any potions etc to be equipped?

No. Total vow of nothing. The only stuff they got to carry was quest-essential. (and Spellbooks until they could read them)

You monster. You let those poor little men out on their own, trecking through the world naked? They must've froze in the Cosmic Circle, afterall, it is in space. And they are probably crispy from the Rapax Rift. That and they've been humiliated by walking through everywhere naked. You have some nerve...

Seriously though, congrats. I tried it once, made it to Arnika, and well, I really didn't start it. I lost interest.
