Okaym I need advice.
I bought this game not long ago and have played it a little, but I just dont know what the hell to do, my character was an agent and I tried doing some jobs, but whenever I had to steal something, I would either get killed or not be able to pick the lock. So I gave up and tried a new game with a Mage, Made the mistake of taking the scrolls of that guy who was able to make a spell that sets your athletics skill to 1000, I then made the mistake of saving while I was soaring over the land, and then when I did finally land...Splat, that unfortunantly was my last save. I dont really like playing as warriors or good aligned characters, mainly because I love roleplaying and I just dont enjoy roleplaying good characters.
Abyway, can you suggest which place I should go to, and what jobs I should take.
Also, what is a good character to play for first time, I will be doing a lot of exploring and leveling up so it will not be a rushed game.
Anyway, thanks in advance.

Well, I don't know why do-gooders aren't role players (I am a do-gooder) but there are some hints what to do:

1. The class. Ignore predefined classes and create your own. Only this way you can get a character, which will fit your play style. Select a race and a birthsign, which gives you a long lasting advantage with respect to your play style. I would select a breton in Mage specialized in combat. Good amount of mana and no disadvantages. The holes in the stats and skills can be removed during the game.

2. The main quest begins in Balmora at Gaius Cosades. Don't haste. Level 10 or so is the right moment when you should go to Gaius. In the meantime, become a member of some guilds and do some quests for them.

3. Stealing and Speechcraft need a pretty high skill level if they should be of some use. Say, 50 or so but rather better. Therefore, do not haste with the Thieves Guild or the house of Hlaalu. Train at trainers a bit before you start completing quests for these guilds.

Hey thanks for the advice, Oh and I don't dislike do-gooders, I just prefer to play as evil characters or crazy characters.

I'd reccomend more than one save file. I've got 8, 7 of which I'll probably never use, but if I wanted to, I could reload my character way back in Seyda Neen, trying not to get killed by mudcrabs and slaughterfish. If you have the computer version, the ~ key brings up the console window. You can put in cheats if you wanted to, but typing ra in it will reset all NPC locations, in case someone blocks the door by trying to push a door that basically says pull. It occasionally happens.

This might also help.

edit: I'm a do-gooder (mostly), but being evil is a lot more fun. Sometimes unwatched items can dissapear if my character is in the room...

It's actually closer to always than sometimes, but that's as evil as he gets.
