Not to be to spoilish, but I just can’t believe how easy my battle was against the rather large sea monster.
First round, I ran towards it, and took damage. Second round closed up to hand to flipper combat range. Third round my monk with first punch KO’ed the monster!! Then I finished the battle very quickly after that, was not expecting it to be that easy!! Found Excaliber in DJ locker…shame as I only have 1 lord (no fighter or Valk) and he’s duel welding maces…typical first time I found Excaliber and can’t use it. Went on to the Bucky ghosts and the buggers didn’t drop a thing!! Did also find the Ninjato, in the sunken ship chest, but, yes you guessed it no ninja in the party!! Guess my luck had run out by then!

Below could be a spoiler, so you have been warned.
For items drop by monsters, it is determined at the moment of their death. So, before you kill the ghosts ( bring down the hp as low as possible ). run away and save your game. Now go back and engage combat with them. If the item they drop is somewhat not to your satisfaction, reload and redo the whole thing until you get what you want. For the chest thing, the content of the chest is determined when you first enter the loading area. So save first before your enter the area and reload if the goodies in the chest somewhat isn't to your liking. However for the DJ locker, you have to get pass Nessy and this can be quite troublesome. Note however, these 2 are quite a cheesy tactic to get the items that you want. So it's not recommended if you are a purist. [ 08-27-2004, 08:11 AM: Message edited by: Kakero ] |

Wow, I found the fight with Nessie incredibly hard, much harder than any other fight in the game. I didn't have a monk though so no chance of KOing.
Tried various tactis which all got me killed pretty quick, In the end I had to resort to summoning an elemental to take the melee beating while hiding behind it and pounding Nessie with missile weapons and constantly healing. Took ages but got there in the end. |

I was shocked just was not expecting anyone to KO that big monster. The battle is much easier when Nessie is not fighting back!!

Randall,
There are ways to KO or Paralyze Nessie and you do not need a Monk to do it. I've had a lowly Priest knock her cold or paralyze her with Ta'Li or Medusa Stones. Any one with a bow and a few Mystic arrows may also get lucky. A fighter has the KO ability too which can be enhanced by a couple swords. The Saint Bastard has a 5% KO bonus and can be used by most races and a few professions. Edit Spoilerish: One other tactic, instead of summoning only one elemental summon as many as you can. Those who cannot summon can throw a canned elemental. Then run the party around her so that either the party or the elementals will be hitting her from behind for extra damage. I find Nessie easy if you engage in melee. In my first game, i used ranged weapons and spells. Took forever.

Been playing other games? Can you tell me how you get those images in your post-profile. Does it have something to do with a web address or can I also just get a picture in there?

To put a pic in your sig simply do this. Find a pic you want (within rule limitiation), get the website from it, by accessing properties. Then, on your sig, put the image tags [img] [/img]
So, my sig become this http://www.pocketforums.com/forums/h...atars/jthm.gif (original webiste) + img tags = ![]() |

What if my picture is something from my computer? No good? I took a picture of a grat Dragon Fly which I'd like to put in there. I'd have to edit it down to the right pixel allowance though.

You'd need to scan it and then host it somewhere. Some other forums allow you to scan your hardrive for pictures and them put them on your sig, but IW doesn't have that option, or so I believe.
