Wohoo, i have finally played through BG2:SoA with my Sorcerer, and now i'm playing ToB. I dont know anything about the new spells and special abilities that appears in ToB (i dont have the original cd)and what lvl 9 spells should i choose? (i was thinking about Time Stop and Spell Trap...and Gate) And are the new "spells" in ToB abilities that i can choose from the special ability button, or are they spells that i have to choose in my mage book when i level up? Any help appriciated! [img]smile.gif[/img]

The ToB high level abilities for magi and sorcerors go into their spellbook (at level 9) and are cast just like normal spells, unlike the ones for other classes (excepting clerics and druids) for which they are accessed through the special abilities-button.
For the normal ninth level spells, I'd say Timestop is a definite must. When combined with the high level ability Improved Alacrity it allows your sorc to kill powerful baddies in literally no time at all. Gate is also handy, but not as good as Summon Planetar. Better take Chain Contingency, IMO. |

Do not underestimate Chain Contingency. It is one of the most offensive/defensive/counter spell ever.
For the record, I select Time Stop, Chain Contingency, Wish and Spellstrike for my Sorcerer. Bear in mind that I still have access to all the level 10 spells. ![]() |
