After seeing many people ask about clans and their entitled functions, I had made a sticky of Memnoch's statements and popped them to the top. I edited out the names of the clans, however...with the name of their clan leaders ...
Memnoch suggests that I have that replaced for our benefit.

If you are a clan leader...please list on this page your clan's name. If anyone starts a new clan...you must first read Ziroc's sticky rules, then post your clan here. That will be the cost of starting your clan...but when you do, remember that we will hold the clan leader responsible for your clan's actions.

Now...There has been discussion as to what a clan is entitled to do here. Let me try to explain, using Ziroc's rules.

* If a clan wants to role-play "in-character" stories and visit with each other not as yourselves but as a fictionalized character...THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU!!!

* If you want to start a game, you may post a recruitment thread here to announce the game and find players. That is the exception to the rule, as stated in Ziroc's rules...#4.

* If your clan or tavern is to be fashioned like the infamous Cloudy's Cafe...that is...if you are not going to role-play...then get ye over to the General Discussion board.

If there are any spammers...realize please that your posts/threads will be deleted. Ziroc has told me to do so with those that understand the rules and do not care.
If your posts sound like General Discussion topics...look for your thread in the General Discussion board the next time you log on.

I shall give clan leaders that are currently running clans here sufficient time to post your information below. After the grace period is over...I shall come looking for you....(hehe)

Thanks !

You are about to be entrusted with a BIG responsibility.

We've all read Ziroc's thread on the War Against Spam. Although a teeny bit of is good for the soul, I'm sure that we are all united in our agreement that we do not want it to grow to endemic proportions in our forum. We must respect the rights of others to have serious conversations if they wish. Moderation, commonsense and respect for others are our weapons in this war!

So as part of your guild's civic responsibility to Ironworks, all guildmasters are to be entrusted with a great responsibility in this war against spam. You are all to be made SPAM SENTINELS.

What is the role of the SPAM SENTINEL? They are RESPONSIBLE and ACCOUNTABLE for ensuring that their guildmembers:
 • do NOT spam other, serious threads with guild wars and other nonsense;
 • maintain ALL clan discussions to their designated clan thread and NOWHERE else;
 • their clan threads do NOT contain spam of the type that Ziroc identified.

This is now a CONDITION for maintaining a guild at Ironworks and I believe it is very fair.

With great power comes great responsibility, and I think you guys are up for it! We will hold GUILDMASTERS responsible for any breaches of the protocols I outlined above, so make sure your members know the rules. The buck stops with YOU!

Help us to ensure that our forum is a clean, comfortable and happy place to post, which caters for all types of people.

Looking forward to your cooperation.

Thanks Larry, we all needed that. But, could we do a trial in case guildmasters abuse their powers and spam everyone!?!?!?!? That'd be great. Too many witnesses though, hahhahahahah. Better stop it now huh.

You mean like a court with a jury?
That would be fun! We could role-play it and it would fit in on this forum!
Man! I love your idea, if that is what you meant...I may make you the executioner...or something...hehe

Maybe all clanmasters could post the following information about their clans/guilds:
 • Clan name
 • Clanmaster/Guildmaster - this person will be RESPONSIBLE for his clan's activities
 • The type of clan it is (RPG, social, multiplayer)
 • How to join the clan
 • A link to the current clan thread, either here, in GD or in the NWN forum (surely you guys know how to do this by now ) or at least the name of the thread
Posting here means that as clanmasters and SPAM SENTINELS you all AGREE to the terms and conditions of maintaining a clan here at Ironworks.

What about those clans who have BOTH Roleplaying and being social in their threads? Should they have a thread on both the GD and the RP forum?
