Help! Have key.. but how do I use it?

I know I'm going to feel totally DUMB when someone tells me the answer.. I've tried all kinds of things and nothing seems to work.

I put the key in his hand and then click on the door to open.. nothing.

I put lockpicks in his hand, and still nothing... tried breaking down the door (guess that's not an option, cause didn't make a dent).

Please someone must know how you USE a key?

heya hon!

kay... just put the key in your inventory. thats all. if you are at the right door, it will open when you hit your spacebar!

now for your lockpicks. equip them like a weapon. drop them onto yourself in your inventory. then get as close to your lock as possible, with the cursor on top of the lock. hit "f" like you would for fighting, to actually equip it, then click your mouse on the chest or door. each click gives you one "pick" attempt. so depending on your skill, how good your picks are and how many you have left, it might work the first time, or you may run out of tries!

its also good if you have money to invest to create an open lock spell
it cost minimal to make a unlock lvl 100 i think about 2500 then find a guy that invests points into securitymax out at about 60 i believe is what they give you up to. (oh btw the spell ends up costing 60 to use). or you could have them enchant a ring or ammy for you just costs a whole lot more, but hey doesnt waist mana.
