i can no longer level up on bg1, do i need tales of the sword coast to continue to level up and then get bg2 or can i just get bg2 to continue to level up?

Gettin ToTSC would solve this, or you could download a hack that takes off the experiance cap.

Yea, I think the TOTSC takes the cap up to 161000, or am i wrong?

Max level in BG is 8th...Tales brings that up to 9th. Otherwise the hack opens it up to whatever you want. But it doesn't fix the fact that you gain no more spells or other innate abilities after the 9th level rules allow for, there are hacks/cheats for up to 50th level rules I have seen. But, I have never used them.
