Is it possible to have say a fighter (assuming he has sufficient ability scores) can I dual call him into a Priest of Talos instead of just a priest, or into a shapeshifter instead of just a druid???

 Unfortunetly, you cant dual to kits. You can dual from kits, though.

yeah, doesn't really make much sense but that's how it goes. You would get many more advantages by going from Fighter to whatever but you can't. It's probably a game balance thing.
Just like dual class Paladins and Monks. You can do it in D&D (the last time I checked) but not in BG2. |

You can always use Shadowkeeper if you want to go that route.

in pnp, you can dual any kits. so if i were a samurai, i could later dual to a specialist mage, or a specialized thief, or something similar. it wont allow it in bg2 however.
