Cannot talk to Cespenar in Pocket Plane

Having successfully followed the early stages of the TOB walkthrough, and had Cespenar upgrade lots of snazzy items, I've suddenly returned to my Pocket Plane to find I can no longer talk to him. Although I get the 'dialog' icon when I point at him, clicking gets no response - nothing happens.

It's actually worse than that - I can no longer talk to ANYONE in my pocket plane. Any hints or tips please?

cambion with the "deck of many things" in Watcher's Keep. Check if you have an ear symbol in your character's portrait.
If you do, then you SHOULD be able to dispel it or it will just go away if you rest.
