ok i need serious sleep for my party and i cant damnit the comp wont let me and it wont let me save (excpt auto saves) i wanna know if its just a thing, i cant remember this happening the other times but i havent payed off that guy... so i dont know if its just a bug or summti or if its just summit ive got to do,

You mean that you get the messages:

-you can't sleep at this time
-you can't save at this time/can't save in combat or in dialogue

I think the computer thinks that you're still fighting or talking to something, while you are not. If killing what you were fighting or talking again to someone you were talking to (before you couldn't save anymore). If it doesn't work you'll have to reload (which I think isn't a problem (except for playing the part you just played) because you can't save so you can't replace your quicksave) .

oh right ill try talking and stuff well ive got to load up an auto save maybe it will happen then...hopefully, do romances sometimes cock it up i.e if you were supposed to get one of those romance dialogues but didnt?hmmn ill try talking to ppl but i cant think of nething i need to kill (i normally kill everything and then righteously prance up and down upon their cold lifeless carcass)

Sometimes you won't notice some creatures attacking you (e.g. if you are walking to some point and a creature that can see further (it can see you but you can't see it) or if you're walking and a creature attacks you and you leave it's line of sight, the game is still in combat mode while the creature doesn't attack you because it can't see you.

Load up autosaves will most likely work because you probably had the problem already when the game autosaved, but noticed it when you tried to save or rest. But if you're lucky it will work, quicksaves will work always though.

If you talked to many people before you had this it might be easier to reload since you have to try them all. (and I'm not 100% sure if it works (but I think it works because killing creatures which the game thought you were in combat with works too) because I always reload)

If you have Jaheira in your party it might be the romance. I never had it but I never completed the romance because it's buggy (wouldn't start, dialogue loops etc.)

hmmn i doubt its an enemy ive traveled all around athlakta without even being attacked...

It happens most in forests where you can't reach some places if you don't walk some miles around a tree and you're not watching your message box closely (you miss the you're being attacked message). In Athkatla it'll probably never happen because of the small streets.

A known bug. Get the official patch (this if you have ToB), and it should probably fix it.
