I just re-installed an old game that I used to really enjoy: Commandos, Behind Enemy Lines, and discovered that it now appears to be overdosed on crack. [img]tongue.gif[/img]
Everything is lightning fast, and there's no way I can play the game properly as there's no time for anything. When I put it at the highest resolution, 1024 x 768, it is just barely playable, but still difficult. Anyway I can fix this?

Check the developer's website for a patch that limits the system speed while running. A lot of older games have this problem. If there is no patch, open up the config file and do a little trial and error editing.

I remember when I took a soccer game that I used to play on my 286 and tried it on a 486. My first turn... opponent stole the ball and sped downfield and scored. Elapsed time, 2 seconds. My second turn... same thing.
At a score of 5-0 ten seconds into the game, I quit and uninstalled it. Never to be seen again...

Ah well, the developer says to search google for a program to make my CPU simulate an older model... If I'm not mistaken... wouldn't that just slow the computer down?

Try and play Warcraft/Warcraft II on something higher than 2GHz. After 39 seconds, the AI comes barging into your base with paladins, ballistas, mages and what have you.
