There's no denying it, cats, we all do it. We see a big fat padlock and we're like flies around sh- uh, poop. Now I, Arledrian, shall attempt to unmask this phenomenon and get to the root of the curiosity behind these no-go threads.

I offcourse love seeing smackdown LIVE! And Locked threads are the next best thing to a blood sport around here To see Choc in his element, laying down Smack +5 as all dictators who think highly of themselves should do, is just the best part of the day for me.
P.S.
The upper post is total bollocks. I just find it interesting.

Thread generally gets locked because someone have done something straight out stupid...and it's always interresting to find out what it was.

It's the car accident rubber-neck principle. We like to see things that are shocking or gruesome because it's more exciting. That's why they always show such things on the evening news, even though they are really not all that newsworthy. The other day one of the top stories was an overturned caravan. Completely trite and unnewsworthy, but exciting for the punters. Or cats...

You know which one I picked, Alex. Odds are it's the same one you did.

I think Aelia got it right. Sometimes I think it's just to find out what people did to get it locked and avoid doing it yourself, but lots of times it's to see "ok, what happenened now- who went ballistic or did something rash?!"
