Cosmology. Religion for atheists.
![]() Lots of good articles to be found on that site. [ 08-22-2006, 12:47 AM: Message edited by: Sever ]

Funny you should mention Atheists, Sev.
I've had the revelation recently that instead of commerical television stations trying to indoctrinate by bombarding us (Australians) in the early hours of the morning with utterly ridiculous christian propaganda, they should instead have more philosophically inclined programs that are of a more agnostic/atheistic nature. Cosmology would be a swell start. ![]() Admittedly its fun to poke the illogical holes out of the religious programs when either intoxicated or on a break during an insomniac gaming binge, but it does get wearisome after awhile. Plus, the very concept of a TV show for the potential recruitment of said Atheists would rock. ![]() Anything to restore a sense of balance would be nice, I think.

Ya, i like. Anything added to the graveyard shift that does NOT involve religion or Demtel is pretty much sold for me. Semi-informative and interesting cosmological programs would do it nicely.
I think you miss my point about the cosmology thang though. (I hope i'm not busting the "current" religious ban with this.) Without a god or meaning of life to adhere to, some people ponder deeply or place great faith in the workings of the universe. At some stage, what we know becomes what we think we know. Then what we think we know becomes what we'd like to know. Then what we'd like to know becomes what we'd like it to be. Then it becomes... er, yeah. In cosmology, it seems to me that in what we think we'd like to know it to be (! ), too much is "known". We'll never know. And yet we who'd like to know are told by people who think they know, who are told by people who'd like it to be. The religion shoe fits. Still, stars 'n stuff wins it for me at that timeslot.

On the net, I've spent the last year or so doing rapbattles, and got pretty good. Was in the final four on rapbattles.com in the league of the best, but then someone falsely accused me of plagiarism and I kinda lost interest after that (for a while at least). http://www.rapbattles.com/forum/showthread.php?t=301727
