Up your characters' Dex scores. When they level up, add points to Dex. Strength in this game does not determine hit or damage; Dex does. Strength apparently only effects CC.
Either that or create new characters, putting more bonus points on Dex. Also: look for items that raise hit stats. You can purchase +1 Longswords and shortswords in the Warrior's Guild "Special Items" screen. -Sazerac |

I'm guessing that's it's the inability to hit the ghosts in the crypt (wizard, warrior and Rumphy)?
Because of their nature it requires magical weapons to "connect" with them more often than not. Save up your money and buy Long Swords +1 (with enchant +1) at the Armory as soon as possible. Your hit ratio and damage done will then increase significantly. You might also try casting Bless and Bloodlust. Rick |

No kidding, Xignal! I forgot about that! Silly me! (whacks self upside head).
Since, however, most people don't have access to Bloodlust at this stage of the game (unless you're running a new game with old characters), look for potions of bloodlust. Rogues in particular like dropping these when you whack them. Bloodlust is Fiend magic level 2, so you'd need to have a Warlock, probably, or some other Fiend-casting character to be able to cast this spell. -Sazerac P.S. "Haste", alhtough it doesn't affect your hit ratios, DOES affect how often you strike vs. the opponents...so cast Haste on your characters as soon as you get it (2nd level Vine magic). Another good one, whenever you get it: Heroic Might (4th level Spirit). Increases damage done per hit, sometimes up to 50% that of normal. in the mean time just whack out opponents with spells, two mages is handy for this . At low level Burn, Zap, Flamestrike all do the trick and can affect spirits to boot!
