1.) Dude, I have three words for you:
Arrows of Dispelling I found that Dispell Magic can take some time to cast and all, so when my NPCs get hit with his death gaze, I just have an archer wack him/her with an A.O.D. You may want to use two archers loaded with these bad boys in cause one gets Deathgazed. Even if you do use Dispel Magic, A.O.D. can supplement very well. 2.) this is a little cheesier, but REST. Seriously. When your party is ready to die, have them all go back upstairs (the demon won't follow you). Have them rest (wherever), and then go back downstairs to finish the fight. Al'etec will not have healed. You may want to make your party invisible when they're going back downstairs so that you can set up a good attack formation before beating on the demon for round two.
