The other mantraps -- the one in the Boogre Caves -- are pretty hard too...
Anyway, to deal with the Amazonian Mantraps, what I did was run past them and go around the corner of the moat... I stayed far out of range. They came to some distance but wouldn't come close enough to attack me, so I slowly used every spell I could to wear them down... I couldn't get within range of their attacks or I'd die. It's annoying to have to be sneaky like that to beat an enemy, but oh well, at least I beat them... and you really will have to eventually. |

I have long thought that people represent a particular character class and type in real life... some for what they want to be, but others for what they are. And thinking about it, you are definitely druidic But in a good way... honest Hmmm... that gives me an idea for a thread.... coming up!

This is a timely thread for me...
I was on my way to Shuregeon Castle last night, hoping to get the Samurai Baton for my warrior. Fought a couple powered up worgurs and some swamp flies, talked to some Ratts and was feeling good about my chances. Some other Ratts got the drop on me, but the fight was going my way - when all of a sudden my party is at 1/2 HP. I was looking for a little Ratt wizard hiding somewhere when I saw the salads sitting back a ways, and then I died. Pathetically. This is going to be tough. |

LOL! Yet another adventurer succumbs to the greatest challenge that the Gael Serran has to offer
There's a part of me that wonders who the sadistic b@$t@rd was who figured out just where to put the mantraps so they came up behind you as you were battling the ratlings. I'm torn between hating them for coming up with it and loving them for making it challenging...

The first time I got killed almost before I could see them, of course... I ended up hiding and using spells from max range because otherwise i was getting slaughtered.

I finally killed them last night, from a distance, using multiple flamedrops, retreating until my spellcaster regained mana, then going back. As long as I didn't engage the Ratts further down the path then where the Mantraps spawn, the Mantraps stayed back in their pathway. I ended up leading the Ratts back to town, killing them, then going back and picking off the last Mantrap. Now off to become a Samurai!
