Yep--that's the "When All Else Fails" tactic.
I used that tactic the first time I ever went through the Undredark. With a Lawful Good Cavalier. Shame on me!

Hmm. I had TOB installed, and I took the cloak of reflection or mirroring; then I hid in the shadows; and procceed to use the *deathblow* ability on the beholders, they dropped like flies. Erm, does your fighter or minsc have deathblow? If they do, get Immy or a mage to cast "invisiblity" on your char, and sneak and attack. Same for minsc, only use "hide in the shadows". lol, well thats ONE way that works. Of course, you could just use summons *yawn* but thats not very exciting, plus, you dont get the kill's. (for your kill counter I mean )

well your party is not probably the strongest one (but mine wasnt either).Have you tried putting all possible protections and haste and just run to kill them? Those you should put on. Then before they realize put pause on and throw magic missiles or other really good spells at them, and put your fighters ready. When the spells have hit, repeat what you just did.I also suggest that you put your mages to hit the other one and fighters to hack the other. This worked with my party (Minsc,Jaheira,Haer`Dalis,Cernd,Edwin and a thief).

Minor Spell Turning will help a lot against Beholders, but you will need to keep refreshing it. Shield will protect your Mages from their Anti-Magic Ray. Jaheira can conjure some Fire Elementals to tango with them. Your Fighter and Minsc should stay behind your spellcasters... while Anomen summons up some Aerial Servants.

If your a good character you can RP that you don't like evil drow, and if your a bad character, do you really need a reason?
Have fun.

Yes. And also I'm currently a paladin/ undead hunter which I wish they were undead.. oh well, they should make weapons that deal special damage to Illithids if they haven't already.

-Everyone must rember that u must hurry thourgh this quest cause if u fail and the gate is closed you are stuck in there for ever so side with solafein and get the fake eggs give um to the matrain mother and take the real ones for ur self. You can still kill the whole city but one mistake in the quest could caust the game so always rember to have an old save.

In Yaga-Shura's lair, you can get the Psions Blade +5 which protects from all psionics (does not protect from INT drain). I slaughtered Sendai's Mind Flayer minions just using Sarevok
