I used a lightning wand. I kept the party back at the edge of the hallway to the east. Then I had the my fighter-mage who was to be wileding the lightning wand drink a potion of absorption. My fighter-thief stealthed and shot and arrow at one of them to lure them back towards the party. When they were all in the room with the false staircase I zapped them with the lightning one ata time; as I was doing that I poured it on the other Doom Gaurds with other wands, and magic arrows. I think I may have summoned skellies and monsters as a bit of protective fodder.
