You could try CLUAing Jan in and see what happens. I did a little search on the internet and found this:
There are 4 Jans you can CLUA in Jan10, Jan11, Jan12 and Jan8. So if you've the cheats enabled hit Ctrl + space and type in for example CLUAConsole:CreateCreature("Jan10"). Try doing this and see what happens when you talk to him each time. If it doesn't work you may be able to change a global variable with shadowkeeper or the CLUA console and talk to him again once you've CLUA'd him in, I'm no expert on this but I'm sure someone could help you there. Good luck! [ 07-10-2004, 02:26 PM: Message edited by: Zarr ]

I'm sure you wouldn't be posting this question if you had an earlier Save to go back to, so I'll skip that.
Jan, I find, is frequently buggy when dropping him from the party: If I boot him at any time other than when he leaves during his quest, when I try to pick him back up again he usually has nothing to say to me. But this is the first I've heard of him vanishing altogether. CLUAing Jan back in will get you one of the default Jans, rather than your own Jan, and thus will likely be lower-level, missing some equipment, have mixed-up Thieving skills and a nearly blank Mage Book, as compared with the Jan that you left behind. Tinkering with Jan's quest variables in Shadowkeeper would be a better idea. As for Valygar: Try sneaking through the 1st floor of his house using Stealth or Invisibility. Frequently, Valygar is only Hostile to you if you piss off Hervo, and it's worth a quick sneak to see if you can get him without cheating. It's been my experience, though, that when Valygar is hostile to you in his own home, he does not drop his body, so it looks like Ctrl-Q might just be your only logical recourse. Ctrl-Q, open the Sphere, and kill him, thus making things work out exactly as they should have, if he'd dropped his body like he was supposed to.

Well, i did the CTRL+Q thing, because he attacked me on sight again. I didn't kill his servant, i just rushed up the stairs, but they followed me. So i still had to kill the guards and the servant, but i have no problems with that.
![]() As far Jan... when i came back from the Planar Sphere, he was back in his house, but there wasn't an option to do his little quest anymore. I suppose he took care of that on his own. All he said was that he wanted to join up again. Bit of a weird situation. ![]()
