JJ,

I did use one of the giant strength belts for Crom Faeyr, but their are several others. My monk has the one that gives 22 strenth.

The ring I have is +2 AC, and the Ioun Stone is +1 AC and +10% magical resistance. I also used Cloak of the Sewers +1AC for awhile, but after I passed -10 AC, I gave it to my mage.

I did get the Gauntlets of Crushing and those really made my character top notch. I have a +4 sword that gives me an extra attack per round, and another with +1 to hit that lowers my AC by 1 when equipped. I rarely use either.

I've also found boots and other items that are useful, like ring of fire protection, and boots to increase chance of trap detection. My monk is better at detecting traps than my thief. That way, I can move the whole party through a dangerous area, instead of putting my thief out front. When something is detected, I have my thief run up to disarm it, then back to the rear of the pack, and my party is moving forward again in fighting order.

I never tried that party order, always had the thief out front for detect traps and disarming them, i put monk points into moving silently/hide shadows - that way,k as soon as he got the quivering palm, i used it to kill a dragon like one of the old members said - distracted dragon (can't recall red or black) with summon animals, snuck around with hide in shadows, then used quivering palm with backstab/backattack bonuses, and got him with one whack! and, like you said, his per round attack is great, an average attack above 25pts every time. btw, what giant belt gives 22str? the one i have is 21, frost giant , i think, the one you need for the hammer - i did not know there was a stronger one in soa, where is it, the new map area?

is it in the new area of soa map, or new section entirely? - all i have done with mine is load it and peruse the manual - i did try to go back and load my last game from soa (which was the final save in hell) and finish it from there, but at the end i got booted completely out of the game to my desktop, it did not continue past queen eliseme's speech.
that was back in june when i got it, have not even tried it since then, still don't even know if it is working right - praying for snow so i get time to play, find out.
