If you are on a tight budget and don't mind reusing some of your computer parts (i.e. case, hard drive, cdrom and floppy drive), you are looking at less than £100 or $150.

Buy a nice cheap integrated motherboard - onboard sound/graphics ($60).
256mb 2100 RAM ($45).
AMD Duron 1100 ($37.50)
Processor fan ($7.50).

Should be a fairly decent system, especially for the money.

Viva SoA!!! (Just to keep this on topic )

pritchke, you can play Icewind Dale II.

I have a pentium II 333 mhz and I can play just fine. It's using the same engine as BG II and I.

OK, Thanks Luvian.

I think I will wait a four or five months before buying another game but that one will be on my list. I had gotten through Throne of Bhaal on the weekend and went on to play W&W again. After that I might play Throne of Bhaal again. Great Ending!

Btw in the Neverwinter Nights Manual it says that the minimum requirements is 300mhz. Although if I were you I wouldnt buy NWN. It will run very poorly and will probably be unplayable when more than two monsters show up on the screen.
I had a pentium II 400 mhz for 5 years until I upgraded it a couple of months ago. So I know the feel of not being able to play the newest games out there.
A possible solution could be to uppgrade your computer which is much much cheaper than buying a new one(which is what I did)
But of course thats all up to you.

The minimum requirements for NWN are wildly optimistic. Hi, Micah!

Just had a peek at the new game WOW looks good. I love the historical tie in, it gives it more feel / reality.
