wow!!! an interesting mod...but a question...
if you finish the BG1 portion of the game NOT with Imone, Minsc, and Jaheira, will the beginning of SoA change as well?

IIRC, there is a mod (or it's in progress) that partially fixes this-if Imoen/Dy/Minsc etc. die in BGI, they won't be in BGII. It seems prone to bugs, however...Especially the Imoen part.

minsc, imoen, khalid etc. cant actually die in the bg1 in the trilogy unless u use sk to take off their belts. Otherewise they just get to 1 hp and then leave.

I think that's the intent of the game makers...there's a "core" story, which we gamers can choose to play through from BG1 all the way til ToB...PC, Imone, Khalid, Jaheira, Minsc and Dynaheir. I originally thought that the team through BG1 should be the team starting SoA, but now...hey, there are some time in between your killing of Saverok and being captured by Irenicus. we can actually go in the final BG battle with different group and later recurit them back. But, it still works/feels better "story wise" if we play through the whole trilogy starting with that roster, and stay with Jaheira, Minsc, and Imone all the way to the end.
I'm doing that now, just got Imone back. Just once, if you do that, it will and may make lots of sense. too bad I cannot try the BGT mod since my current internet server (school service) doesn't allow me to exceed the usage of 1 GB bandwidth within 24 hours. Can I download the mod separately? like download it bit by bit in three days?

Simply think of the scripting and hard work it would take to complete make the storyline dependent of your choices. They would have to re-write the entire intro of BGII. From then onwards: how would you get out of your cage? Who would Irenicus capture? Imoen must be alive so the BGT writers had to make sure Imoen stays alive. As far as minsc and jaheira and dynaheir are concerned, they would be much easier to 'delete' from the story.
