You can also dual-class Imoen to mage. If you level her at the right XP she can regain her thieving levels and make a very powerful ally.

Yes, this is nicely brought out in the bgt mod, which roleplays the dual if you want it to happen. However, having said that you really do want it to happen the amount of time she spends annoying you about it if you don't let her.
