The phone book.
No seriously, I haven't read a really lousy book. Guess I've been lucky this far. [ 07-24-2003, 07:06 PM: Message edited by: Stratos ]

I agree on Salvatore... uber cheeze. I'd add Snow Crash... stupid nonsensical cyber-crapola. Must say that I did enjoy Wizards First Rule though, although it was certainly predictable. Also agree on L. Ron Hubbard, he had some funny stuff but everything he's ever written is at LEAST 10 times longer than it needs to be.
I'd add some of the Piers Anthony stuff, although there were quite a few books he wrote that I enjoyed as a youth. And Eddings Mallorean makes the cut because the Belgariad was SOOOO much better. |

Any cliche badly-written fantasy crap. I do sometimes read stuff like that when I want some quick zombie-like entertainment. Books like that compare to a good novel a bit like a boiled sweet to a copious 5 star meal: sometimes they can provide some swift, short-lived satisfaction, but if you're really hungry, they just don't cut it.
Cazzie, I've read Conrad's Heart Of Darkness, why? About the other books you read for school... umm, maybe you should try again in a couple of years?
