To pump up spellpoints, *each* time you've rested, save and then cast all the protective spells you can, both priest and mage (and anyone else that can). Then rest again just til mana is replenished. You then will have protection turns left on your castings (Light, Magic Screen, Armorplate, (priest), Enhanced Blade, (mage) and later do the same with Xray and Detect Secrets to pump up your mage's Mental realm).

Also, the Priest will get Lightning (Fire realm) which is an cone area spell. Use it often during the easier battles to pump up the power. Very handy spell.
