Hi Blackraven

Thank you replying, and no worries on your post. Changes are made when people stand up and voice what they feel, as you did. I respect that you spoke your mind, for many people spend a large part of their lives trying to do just that and never succeed.

And yes, all members are important, be they lurkers, random posters or people who post 99 times a day.

Look at my profile, I've only posted just over 200 times, and I was one of the first members of the original WW forum. Most of my friends from there have posted in the 1000's, shoot they left me in the dust a long time ago!

Speaking of lurkers, you're talking to one, for I've gone months at a time without posting. Now I'm a moderator so I have to at least show myself now and then.

Every person here is valued equally, for without members, there would be no forum. So please remember that ok?

I'm glad you are staying too, and I hope to see you lurking around.

Best

Sometimes I have beat it lol, but more often NOT.
Also, after a battle when your characters gain a level and THEY have to talk about it, you can't just click to shut them up and run from the next wave of monsters! I have nearly gotten my party exterminated more than once that way!

this post is a bit off-topic:
moni - perhaps you could go to the options screen, then to the sound section and uncheck the character confirmation and subtitles boxes. i haven't tried it myself, so i don't know if it will work but you could try it anyway to see if it will work.

I was one of the disappointed buyers of Wizards and Warriors. Although I never posted to the forum, I hung around waiting for a patch with bug and gameplay fixes for a couple of weeks before going on to something else. Did DWB fix the game? Where can I get the patch? I'll be playing Wizardry 8 for at least a month, but if the game is now good I'd like to go back to it at some point.

Not that my opinion counts for much, but I will state that the "family orientation" of this forum and Ironworks Gaming in general is the single biggest reason I come here. I have never found a friendlier forum than the Wizards & Warriors forum here on this site. It truly feels like a small group of friends. After 10+ years on usenet and enduring the demise of it I find this site refreshing and enjoyable to read every day. It's the general positive outlook on things that makes it so for me.

Kind regards,

frosty

Thanks Elara!
I DO like to see how we are advancing, but sometimes it just gets in the way of (my) timing. Of course, I am always walking straight into multiple encounters in the worst places! That, and the fact that I'm getting older doesn't help with my speed on the mouse clicks or keyboard! *chuckle*

One word fix Keyboard shortcut...umm ok thats 2 words But if you hit the ~ key it puts you in combat mode right away. I never seem to have the problem with those boxes when I do that.

Hi all. I am only fairly new to the forum but felt urged to make a posting to this discussion. Blackraven, as I do not know of you or your postings I cannot comment on whether you were out of line or whatever. However from the postings I have seen in this group I feel that there was probably just a misunderstanding. The comments from the moderators seem to show a geniune concern that people enjoy their time here while adhering to the guidelines.
I have not yet got my eager hands on Wizardy 8 due to a late release date here in Australia but have played the demo and was blown away.
I look forward to coming to this forum often and asking for help and maybe even helping others.
Those of us who are lovers of CRPG have to stick together, that includes you Blackraven. We may be a small minority but from the comments I have read in this forum we are a damm intelligent bunch....well you guys and girls are anyway.
And just as an after thought..... It is hard to convey feelings in typing. Sometimes the typing can sound harsh when actually the person typing had a smile on their face.
take care.....ceeyaa
