If you want to mention REALLY old games, how about Wasteland? Some of the best combat descriptions I've ever seen - "Jon Smallberries riddles the Pistolero for 102 damage, exploding him like a blood sausage" - it just don't get any better than that!

Umm...
Anyone here remember "The Bard's Tale"? Now, that was a great game for it's time.... Or am I just the oldest fogey on here<<< Hi Werdna, Allright, another Bard's Tale fan! And you're not an old fogey by any means, that game helped to set the standard for many games to come! Bard's Tale was one helluva game, as were 2 and 3, the last of which I never played. Have you heard about the group of BT fans that are making an unofficial 4th game? A demo is soon to be out, check it out here: http://www.bardslegacy.com/main.html# I used to love the Monks in BT, with an "L+" armor class they could even dodge spells, and were one man death machines.
