Thanks jim, I will try that out. But still that means I am limited to 3? chests per day. That is a raw deal for monks.

There isn't anything really that a solo Monk needs to get into that they cannot bash open... Depending only on Draw Upon Holy Might kinda slows you down, so it helps to collect all the nice strength potions you can, as long as they are more powerful than your current girdle.

Traps are not too much of a problem, especially if you have ToB. I just quicksave alot and run thru em. With a Monk's savings throws and resistances, there arn't too many you can't handle.
Additionally, Stunning blow is your best friend. Its a great ability, and works nicely in SoA.

and weapons do not effect bashing locks anyway.

i know crom faeyr is not available until chapter six, but when you do get them, you will have str 25 on demand, although you shoudnt use it in combat for roleplaying reasons. a monk with a hammer in hand is just plain wrong.

and which doors did you need to get through for nalias keep?. the three at the sart open easily, and the master key handles the rest. the broken door cant be opened until after you beat up torgal anyway.
im holding back on this quest until i find something the affects the iron golem, since i want those weapons to sell.

there are a few doors in there that are hard to open, but you can easily finish the quest without them. although torgal is not "easy" for a solo monk, even using the hide in shadown trick.
