If I were you I would go with KoToR, great game, great story line, and good character interaction.

If you don't want to spend any money and you still want an enjoyable game, I reccomend Dink Smallwood.

I strongly suggest you play Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.

Good f@k that is a sh!t game, I played it like 20 min and then threw it away. The gameplay and movements of the character sucks.
And for Diablo 1 + 2, they are brilliant. The are the best game ever and is my all time favourite, and I would recomend it to anybody.

I've played all of the above games mentioned, and in my opinion I'd say go with Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.

Oh, and WELCOME TO IW!!!

Phienix: you strongly suggest he plays KotOR but you think it's a shitty game altogether? I don't really get your point, but that could be me..

I myself think Knights of the Old Republic is a great game. It has a very good storyline, nice graphics (but nothing too special) and the fighting system is very nifty if you get the hang of it.
Took me 23 hours in-game (without reloading) to finish it. Make that 30+ hours in total. Not much games have that large of a lifespan these days *coughMaxPayn2cough*

Link, sorry I was trying to quote on what Sythe
said but the quotation didn't work.
Sorry for the confusion. Me personally it sucked.

I can't believe nobody's mentioned Jedi Knight: Oucast, and Jedi Knight: Academy. They're FPS games, not top-down adventure games but they are top-notch fun.

Halo is also a great shooter.

Morrowind is a great adventure game, huge and open ended - some might say too huge and opene ended.

NWN can be fun, especially once you get the add-ons SoU and HotU which add to the feats list and fix various bugs. The editor included with the game has also started a very diverse modding community.
