You know i've ordered a double cheesburger about ten times now. I think I might've actually gotten a double 2 out of those ten. Of course I don't bother complaining as they'd probably still screw up anyway. You'd think your orders would be better when seniors and juniors weren't taking them...

I worked at a McDonald's for 6 years (through high school and college). I can tell you unequivocally that there is ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSE for screwing up an order in the middle of the afternoon when there are no other customers around.

Actually, there is no excuse for any reason to mess up your order like that. I can't speak for the other chains, but McD's had a good system for writing down (or printing out now) any special order.

A lot also has to do with the owner of the franchise. The owners of the store I worked at had really high standards (relatively speaking), then the husband was killed in an auto accident and the wife sold the franchise.

The new owner has let the store "go to the dogs". I get angry and sad every time I go there, because none of the employee's give a whit about the type of job they do. It's truly pathetic. It's not that they mess your order up on purpose, it's just that they don't care one way or another if you get what you want.

well come to think of it If i was REALLY dumb and making minimum wage i really wouldnt care how peoples food turned out. I mean what if I do a good job for 6 months theyll give me a 10 cents raise as opposed to a 5 cents raise. thats real incentive to do a good job.

I agree with the minimum wage and general lack of incentive..but I strongly DISAGREE with the "..REALLY dumb.." part.

I have an Associated degree in Electronic Data Processing and a Bachelor's degree in both Financial Planning and Marketing.
I've also passed several of Mensa's screening tests.

Not all employee's of fast food chains are there because they are too dumb to work anywhere else. In my case, McD's was the best of the VERY few job options in our small town that would fit with my ever-changing college schedule. And I don't regret working there. I gained a lot of my work ethic from that job.

I apologize if I took your Post the wrong way. Maybe you didn't mean it the way it sounded. Either way, I just wanted to point out that some of the employees at fast food places simply don't have many other options, but I agree that they should still do their job correctly and effectively.

Hmmm. Perhaps I do not know how it is where you live Az, but over here in NY, man they will try and get rid of the customer at all costs. Even in Manhattan, or even huge stores like Comp USA. They will get rid of you, and not care what you even have to say, at some cases staff has lied to me just to get rid of me.

So my first theory as to why that has happend to you, is because it was a slow day, and they wanted to get home so they tried to get rid of you.

Second theory would be because they are not allowed to seclude lettuce from the order, so they had to add it anyway disreguarding your request...

Yea I know, it blows, well, the heck with Taco bell man, goto Apple Beeeeees they are THE best .

I in no mway meant to insult the intelligence of everyone who has ever worked at a fast food place. In fact I worked at one in the past for several years. But then again I got people's orders right on the first try. I meant to imply that if you are ignorant and do in fact work at a fast food place, (from experience Ive seen a lot of stupid people working there.) you really wouldnt care how the food came out. Down with Mcdonalds

Would you mind explaining the purpose of this last comment?

I agree with the rest of your post, but I would like to know why you felt the need to add this last part.

Ok so what happened to personal pride and professionalism?
Just goes to show a lack of character and integrity. Low pay
does not stop some people from performing admirably..people with honor, integrity and pride in their work. If you won't do a good job for minimum wage you aren't ikely to do a good job for a higher wage because you lack the qualities that make you worth more to the employer. The LOSER mentality is "I don't earn enough so Im going to slack off" is exactly why there is a large number of welfare recipients in this country (USA) and why those same people cannot get better jobs...because they simply are not worth it. (he said from a hiring position)

I worked at Mcdonalds for 2 years and hated every second of it. Ray A. Crock and his whole McDonald's Nazi Regime need to be stopped.

I was in high school when i worked at McD's and I was a manager, but they screwed me over for a promotion and gave it to one of my higher up's daughter instead who was by far a great deal less competent than me. This was in everyone's opinion but her's and the person who did the promotion. so on that very day I turned in my two weeks and quit. I did't have a job lined up or anything at the time, it was just the principal of the thing. Since my last day there I have not set foot inside a McDonalds. It was terrible when I worked there too, making all those kids work like slaves for like 7 bucks an hour while the owner rolled up in either of his jaguars, I mean share the wealth a little yah greedy SOB. I mean all McD's might not be that bad but the one I worked at was. That one was better then the first one I worked at. At that one there was this one manager that just hated everyone and everything, and took it out on all the employees. Some crazy wench on a power trip with the small amount of power she commander as an assistant manager. Everyone hated her employees and customers alike. McDs might be a great place to work at but I never had any good experiences there so youll never convince me of that. WENDYS FOREVER!!! I went there today and ordered a special order and they actually got it right on the first try. I think hell must have froze over or something.
