I might cop some flaming because of this but no I would not and could not shoot him. I could not live with my conscience with the guilt that I have taken a life whether it was just or not. It would IMO make me no better than the man I had killed.

Let's just say the United States government captured Bin Laden, they hand you a gun, and then ask you to shoot him. Could/would you do it?

Note that without a leader with the propaganda power Osama has, the taliban would likely crumble. But could you kill somebody knowing you'll have that with you the rest of your life? Would you stick by "thou shall not kill" or would you shoot the bastard in the head? Thought it was an interesting question, any answers?

This similar to the question asked about Hitler. Not the adult swastika waving Hitler, but if you could go back in time, would you kill the infant Adolf Hitler? Could you kill a baby knowing you'd save the world years of war and millions of deaths? It's a tough question.

There is sobbing of the strong,
And a pall upon the land;
But the People in their weeping
Bare the iron hand:
Beware the People weeping
When they bare the iron hand.

I would kill him. He was instrumental in the death of many and he deserves to die. I'd make sure that I'd make it painless as I don't believe in human sufferance.

However, I don't think that it will acheive anything but to remove him from the equation.

About the killing Hitler, no, I would not kill him as a young man, I would just make sure he got into art school as he wanted. That's where is hatred for the Jews started.

So, if we had to go back in time with Bin Ladden, I would not kill him. I would just make sure that the US didn't put bases in Saudi Arabia and they the US had a more logical involvement in the Middle East following the Cold War.

Today, Bin Ladden is a problem that must be removed. 20 years ago, we created the problem.

EDIT: People must keep in mind the the true ennemy (except for ourself) is the Terrorist, not the people that are with them. The Taliban is not an ennemy. Bush as IDed them as such because they are an objective of success that can be quantified in a war. But they are not the Ennemy.

Ditto here. I could not do it. If I did, I'd probably kill myself afterwards because I could not continue living with that on my mind. I believe I'm not suited for a career in the army

there are always the others. individuals are the products of circumtances, which in turn is shaped by individuals. if you rid of hitler, violently or non-violently, there will be Hitlor or Hatler or whatever person next in line. you have to change history in order to change history

Well, me, hmm... I don't feel like shooting him in the head... I would do this thing where his head is tied with his whole body into one place and have his forehead under a faucet. The faucet drops lil drops of water constantly, veeery slllooowlly crushing his forhead... he would practically go insane or die first... tsktsk...

The thing is, I wouldn't care whatever, but I wouldn't really torutre him to death as in you know... that is not sweet... Memnoch having the most mature answer, and that is probably going to happen. This guy, or some terrorists are irredeemable and Bin Laden is one of em... so this guy is eligable for death penalty...

Pig Blood... poor pigs!

(I know I had some other ideas in another thread, but I'm serious on this one)

Prime
Probably the most eloquent pro-pulling the trigger answer so far. And I agree 100%. I would make it quick and clean. The sonofabitch deserves far far worse, but I refuse to take myself down to his level. Although, because I am a vindictive bastard...I'd be REAL tempted to use the pigs blood idea.

And Mems...just because someone thinks of acting out barbarism, it doesn't make them barbarous. I had to think long and hard about my answer to the question. And, considering what that puke, and all of his people are responsible for, I, who consider myself a rational, reasoning human being, had to really sit down and think. Because, I have to tell you. The examples posted here are absolutely lightweight compared to some of the things I have thought up.

Excellent, thought provoking post KS!
