One point about those high heels, they are a very effective weapon, in and of themselves, and since some "escape" techniques involve stomping on the assailant's foot...
To the rushing the gunman thing in a classroom, I don't think I can cosign that. I taught my last gf's daughter to hit the ground, and depending on the range from the gunman, that may be what I'd do as well, in a group situation. Now, if he's close enough to reach, or tries to use me as a hostage/shield, he's in for a rather big surprise. My life may suck, but I'm not suicidal.
