Celestial Fury (best katana in the game, +3 enchanted) can be found in the Guarded Compound in the Temple District; the blue-roofed building east of the Lathandar temple and north of the Order of the Radiant Heart.

The entrance to the compound is REALLY hard to find. Basically, search around the blue roof area with your mouse until you find the icon that lets you enter.

The Guarded Compound is also marked on your map.

But be aware, two of the games toughest fights takes place in there, so your party should be atleast over lvl 13-14, and must have good weapons, as one or two of the enemies requires +3-weapons (IIRC) to hit.

Lots of XP to find in there, the place is also good to claim as your own, after you've destroyed the enemies.

How do you go about claiming the Guarded Compound as your own?

Gives a picture on how bad the sword really is.
Hi all,

khirsah is on the right lines with this weapon. The weapon always hits as +3 enchantment, so it doesn't matter what alignment the creature is, the sword will always strike as +3. This means that it does not strike as a normal long sword against true neutral characters, it simply means there will be no bonus to the thaco or damage, but it still strikes as a +3 weapon (take the seeking sword innate ability of the clerics of helm for example, there is no bonus to damage IIRC but it still strikes as a +3 weapon despite only doing 1D8 damage).

In terms of bonuses to hit and damage for the equaliser, the following rules apply:

THACO & Damage:
vs True Neutral: +0 to hit, +0 damage
vs Chaotic Neutral, Lawful Neutral +1 to hit, +2 damage
vs Neutral Good, Neutral Evil: +2 to hit, +4 damage
vs other alignments: +3 to hit, +6 damage

There are very few true neutral opponents in the game, making the zero bonuses negligible, which means that the sword will generally give at least a +2 bonus to damage. This beast will give a whoppingly huge +6!!! bonus to damage versus lawful good, chaotic good, lawful evil and chaotic evil opponents, with neutral good and neutral evil giving a perfectly respectable +4. This makes this sword more than useful in the vast majority of battles, and I don't think the effort required to get it is hard at all and I certainly don't think the sword is bad.

the pommel jewel is found with ease in irenicus' dungeon

the blade is found on an elder orb as soon as you enter the southern tunnels in the underdark - no problem!

and finally the hilt is found in the mindflayers zone in the eastern tunnels of the underdark - this being the most difficult part to obtain, but still the other two components are really easy to get.

In conclusion, this sword rocks and is a totally original weapon and it deserves the respect it's due

IMHO the sword pretty much sucks. If i can't depend on a certain amount of ability to hit certain creatures and I can't depend on a certain amount of damage they can keep the worthless showy hunk of pointy metal, again thats just IMHO

The idea behind the sword is very OK and it looks wickedly cool.
