Well if they were "peacefull" protestors why didn't they make like ghandi and hug the ground rather than meet objects with others, including their fists...

oh, and to those laughing at the pic, its quite obvious youve never been on the receiving end of it, or you wouldnt talk about it so lightly. i really wonder if some things that are said on this forum sometimes would be said face to face to someone. id be amused to hear a commentary about the police needing to beat up people more in front of me and my friends. the one saying it wouldnt be so happy, probably.
And why would the person making the comment become unhappy, norompanlasolas?

What would happen if they made that comment?

The answer to that might explain why you have so many run-ins with the law to begin with.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not judging whether you are right or wrong. Obviously I can't since I don't know the circumstances behind your encounters. But your last comment implies that you would react violently. If this is a recurring trend, perhaps you ought to at least consider changing whatever tactics you're using.

I'll remember this protest for about another day, then it will dissappear into oblivion. I never remember silly stuff, what I remember is genuine emotional topics, and funny enough, I still don't know what those people were protesting exactly. They never tried to get their voices heard, they just wanted to take a day off of work and act like idiots.

I hear you Lady Z!
I got stuck working here today and just wandered back in from the Mall. My first hand view of all this is these are very young people just trying to upset things here rather then trying to present anything of value other then the experience of saying they protested something. Very feeble and empty stance generally on the whole.
I ran into a group of about 20 or so getting a gatorade from a street cart. Kinda funny thing happened. A street guy asking for spare change chased them all away within a minute. What do we need the cops for- just let the street people take care of the city's light work

you mean i'm supposed to feel sorry for idiots who destroy property and assault people?i don't think so!if they follow the law they're fine by me.but the second they get out of line and start getting stupid, that's when the cops should take them out.

As scary and rare as it is, I agree with Khazadman. The supposedly "peaceful" protestors who break stuff, make fake 911 calls and obstruct traffic. I wouldn't shed a single tear if they got beaten up by the police, most likely they threw the first punch themselves.

they would react the same way as if i casually strolled on a bar in madrid and started screaming pro basque consignes, or if i went to a pub in manchester and started chanting for arsenal, or if i walked in a bowling alley in the us and started spewing pro bin laden shit. people are (and i include myself) much more careful of what they say when not in the web. anonimity and distance tend to make you say things you otherwise would never say in person. i am not a violent person but sometimes it gets to situations where it is unavoidable. but it is not me that has to reconsider anything. it is a matter of commong sense.
