i got an elven fighter/thief with
str 18/00 dex 19 con 18 int 12 wis 14 chr 11 but hey ...... she has it where it counts (+6 damages with a hit) ------------------  I am Demoquin, Agent from Hell |

I managed to get a ranger with 92 points to distribute and he ended up
18/(70+ i think) 19 dex 17 con cant remember rest. i also got an evil fighter with 93 points to distribute she got 18/ (less than the ranger for some wierd reason) 17 dex 19 con |

My character from BG the first time through had a total of 92 points, though only an 18/52 strength. But the strength didn't matter, as the strength raising tome makes it a 19 whether you are 18/01 or 18/00
 Of course, she was a paladin, which is pretty much the easiest class to roll high numbers with, thanks to all the high stat requirements paladins have.

I had a palidan with...
str 18/94 int 6 dex 18 con 18 chr 18 wis 18 took forever but it worked. i also had a bard with close to the same stats. |

if you were to use gatekeeper and all of your ability scores were 18, would you be able to export that character to BG2?

Don't see why not. You can get ability scores of up to 21/22 in BGI without gatekeeping.

My record is 91 with an elven fighter, I rolled for hours to get that. UNFORTUNATELY, the computer crashed while I was distributing the points
 . I gave up and havent had enough patience to get more than 88 since.

My best char was human fighter 18/98, 18, 18, 8, 7, 18. I figured he must've been a gladiator - rather dim and unwise, but very charming, strong, tough and agile. With some spellup he took out the whole basement of AecLetec cult alone, wielding spiderbane
