Well I stoped caring about wow's success a long time ago. The only thing that got to me is the overhype this game seem to have gotten around here.

I have taken a break from WoW myself. It's great and all but I've almost played too many of the 'standard' MMO-type games that I need something new and fresh, less-grindy and more immersive.

I am playing DDO beta atm and despite it's flaws (see my post on this forum) that does it for me for now, since the quests are so rich and it feels more like a NWN's lanparty than a massively multiplayer game. I am still looking for something with a large amount of content, the kind of game that keeps you locked up in your house for hours. Best place to really look for that us in offline games, so like many others I am eagerly awaiting Oblivion.

I stopped playing WOW since jan 13th. Not playing anything since then. I'm waiting for oblivion too.

Yes, Burnzey but Luvian attends classes and writes in his free time, unlike some of us, meaning You, who seem to be playing WoW approximately 22.75 hours a day.

Haha, i give you that one. Classic. But I am not a free man, starting February 1st I start good old.. Old school.

Guild wars seems interesting, but the part where the max lvl is 20 repels me from a 40 foot pole. Maybe if it were max 40, But 20 doesn't keep you going on for 22.75 hours a day

But that's the beauty of GUild Wars burnzey boi. Levels are not the goal of the game, it's the gameplay.

The character progression is not the same, you'll get to level 20 maybe 80% of the way through the game, much like in WoW.

There is of course special weapons and armors you can farm for in your spare time if you feel like it, but the real fun is doing storyline missions or pvp.

I'll try to log on WoW this week. I loged on this weekend on Icecrown to try the new Lunar content, but got asked for help by guildies on some quests and got sidetracked. Then my brother came over and I was too busy to play.

vanguard's target market is for those "serious/hardcore" mmorpg players similar to eq1 indeed.

being an eq2 veteran, ive met those hardcore players and i must admit, too much for my taste where they actually get so serious that they get insulted over the simplest and stupid things. Thats why i got out of there and soon quit as well. its not much fun being too serious.. i suspect vanguard (which everybody claim in eq2 world) would be for "hardcore" gamers. Casual players there wont be fun at all.

Not just casual players. I've been "hardcore" before, and I wouldn't enjoy it.
