The way I see it, Mages are better for someone who is new to the spell system, and would need to be able to just learn a new spell if they find that what they`ve got doesn`t work.
A sorcerer is better for an experienced player, who knows the spell system like the dirt on their moniter. A sorcerer will end up a better character in the end ONLY if alot of thought is put into the spells they learn. |

Ay, compare to the analogy of cars.
Mage -> Jeep Sorcerer -> F1 Car The F1 Car is faster, but if you do not know how to use it... it is very likely that you will crash and burn. You got to know how to drive first, then proceed to learn how to master driving. |

Can I summarize what Dundee said in a couple of sentences:
Sorcerer = battle mage Wizard = general mage Keep in mind with the ubitiqous Load Game option, you can pretty much choose the exact right spells for your mage for any given situation. But that wouldn't be in the spirit of roleplaying now, would it. ![]() |
