Ok, since I'm not familiar with American PC shops online (apart from the obvious, new egg etc.) where were you intending on buying from?

I need to upgrade RAM and I was thinking of getting 2 512 sticks to replace my 2 256 sticks. I have a Dell Inspiron 8600 laptop, and it runs WoW well, but I know 40-man instances are going to be harsh on it.
So, Dell priced them out to me at $89 each. Is that too much? Note that the price includes a guarantee for the RAM to work under my warranty, and the sticks have lifetime warranty. I'm looking for 333 DDR SDRAM. Any problem with buying generic from CompUSA? Any particular specifications I should watch out for? [ 11-15-2005, 03:31 PM: Message edited by: Timber Loftis ] |

TL: Laptop memory is WAY different than desk-top in all aspects to include price. 1GB of lifetime warranted, guaranteed to be compatible, and fully supported for under $200?
A quick search of Crucial reveled their 'guaranteed' Dell Inspiron 8600 series to be $194! If you go generic, ensure they warrant compatability, and have no-less than 5 yr warranty!
