Plus they don't recommend you wear a cup...unless you want the entire opposing pack of forwards to test out the integrity of the cup when you're caught at the bottom of a ruck.

I'd have to say Rugby. I played it once and was bruised all over - literally - black and blue from head to foot.

I think I'll agree and I'll disagree.

Rugby is a more demanding sport overall because of the endurance requirements and constant beatings, especially for forwards.
Football, on the otherhand, is more dangerous because of the method behind tackling and also blocking. With football you can launch yourself at someone headfirst to take them down, whether they have the ball or not. In rugby there are more rules for tackling, like the requirement to wrap, no blocking, and no spearing.

So...rugby is more demanding, football is more dangerous.

But then Football has it's padding and protection... if applied to rugby it would turn the sport to wimp sport

But then with all the padding, A.F. players try their best whack the crap out of the opponent to thy kingdom come... sad.. pushing everything to the limit

Totally agree with your assessment, Madriver. The potential to sustain serious injury is a lot higher in gridiron, since a lot of times you can be whupped without warning (either by a blocker or a tackler) and this is usually when you can sustain some serious damage.

In rugby you tend to be a lot more prepared for being tackled or rucked, so even though I find it a lot tougher, injuries tend to be lower - if anything they will be knees getting wrenched in tackles or hamstrings strained from running full tilt without warming up first.

Back to the point, I think it would be Rugby. I have seen a couple of games on TV, never played it though. I dont know the rules to it and dont know any of the terms for it, but it looks overall tougher then american football.

i don't care what sport is tougher, i'm more interrested in rules and regulations, and for me that makes american football more interresting. GO PACKERS
