Plenty of hot dogs in the kitchen, TM!
Wellard, just be sure you have the two hak packs needed and they are unpacked into the right places (they tell you where to put things, I believe- haven't done the newest one yet, I dl but haven't unpacked it, haven't had time!) Maybe I'll see you there sometime! If I ever get that elusive free time back, that is.

Howdy all!
am back at work after 4 days off (weekend and two annual leave days), and it sucks. At least the weather is better here - has been crazy fora while. There are some people in the South Island have been without power for about 8 days now - in snow, with more on the way. And Auckland, our biggest city (in the North Island) lost power for a whole 8 hours, and you woudl have thought the world was ending! Stupid Aucklanders!

I saw 'snow' in your post and did a double take, then remembered you're on the other side of the equator, Captain Obvious. If your winter is as wonky as my summer is being...ouch, I fear for your power and sanity! We've had almost non stop rain for a few months. I think at last count we've had about 3 days without heavy rain of some kind since early May. Getting a wee bit soggy up here! LOL

yeah, good old winter.
where i live it doesnt snow (it is foggy fairly often instead - decnet trade) but we have had a hell of a lot of rain lately - my father-in-laws farm is almost like one big swimming pool (albeit one filled with muddy, shitty water). while our winter temperatures are probably not as bad as yours (worst has been -3 lately) our houses are crap, and have 2/3 of 5/8 of bugger all insulation, i mean, there is nothing like misty breath when you are lying in bed!

I'm doing surprisingly well, actually. I found out yesterday that I have finally gotten my General Assistance, after a year of being unable to work, and I have a phone interview at 9am with the Social Security people, to apply for disability, required by the SRS, and with my recent medical history, I'll probably get it on the second try...They never just give it to you on the first try, but that's all good, as when they do give it to you, they pay you from the time you first applied...cool big check...pay off my bills, not that I'm behind right now, thanks to mom, and good management of funds, mostly...Any way, the stress is off. A couple of interviews today, one on the phone, and later some papers to sign at the SRS building, and I'm on my way.

Sounds cold enough for me, Captain Obvious...brrrr! Not sure how I'd like all that rain and no snow on a regular basis, but then I never like the snow when I have to drive around in it here, either.
Wellard, argh! Tires cost a pretty penny, I know, we replaced all four of them on my husband's car not too long ago. And it's a pain to have to schedule service and workarounds for transportation, so good luck with that and the phone working! 'grats on finally getting some help for the bills, rtb! Took them long enough! Now if they just find out what's causing your headaches you'll be in great shape! Gonna be a rainy, hot and humid day here but I'm in the office most of the day and then I have some bills to pay and chores about the house, so if it's still rainy and miserable later, I won't get to do any trimming of the out-of-control-about-to-eat-the-house shrubbery but at least I'll get something constructive done.

One tiny little cable broke in the wind and knocked the power out; took ages to fix cause of all the rain: buggered if i would work on 40,000 volt power lines in the pouring rain!
oh, and Auckland is not our Capital; Wellington is, althoguh as an Aussie you should know that! (although i always used to think Sydney was yours) We had a short power cut this morning; was kind of good cause i was just about to do some ironing and couldn't! gutted about the tyres Wellard - cars are good like that, cost you money. to be totally honest, you were courting disaster by having your girl drive your car - the two greatest money reducing agents worknig together? come on! what league game are ya going to see? over here there are talking about the warriors 'winning streak' cause they have won 2 in a row - and could make it three against the rabbitohs. THe warriors have not won 3 on the trot since 2003, when they were in the Grand Final. Man they suck!
